What grades are offered by Marian University Preparatory School?
Marian University Preparatory (MU Prep) is currently enrolling full-time students in grades K–12 for the 2024–2025 academic school year.
Who is eligible to apply?
MU Prep is available for students in grades K–12 in all 50 states.
What does it cost to attend Marian University Preparatory School?
Marian University Preparatory School is a private school. We provide licensed teachers and instructional materials. Students and families will be responsible for providing some school supplies, such as printer ink and paper. Because our students learn online, a computer with an internet connection is required. Loaner computers are available for families based on demonstrated financial need. Our enrollment consultants can help address your technology and computer questions and needs.

Is tuition assistance or financial aid available?
MU Prep welcomes families to use any tuition services available within their state or community, and our enrollment consultants will work with families on their options.
For students of MU Prep-Indiana, Indiana’s Choice Scholarship Program provides scholarships to eligible students to offset tuition costs at participating schools. Students must satisfy both household income requirements and student eligibility criteria to qualify.
Do you provide textbooks and instructional materials?
Yes, we provide textbooks and instructional materials. These books and materials depend on the student’s grade level and the courses they’re enrolled in.
Can my child work at their own pace?
The elementary, middle, and high school students complete lessons in live, virtual weekly classes. As well as, not live, online coursework.
What subjects will my child study?
Core courses are offered in language arts, math, science, history, and religion. Other courses in the appropriate grade levels include art, health or physical education, music, world languages, and more. High school students can choose from a variety of electives. Students can also access credit recovery courses.
Does my child need a computer to attend?
Yes. However, based on financial need and eligibility, MU Prep may loan a computer to each enrolled student to support the learning process upon request. These computers are MU Prep instructional property and must be returned when the student leaves the school. MU Prep will arrange for technical support and troubleshooting for these systems. Each family will need to secure their own internet service provider.
How is MU Prep associated with Marian University?
In accordance with its mission, Marian University created Marian University Preparatory School to diversify the educational delivery system that provides access and success for students at every stage of their academic journey.
How do students interact socially?
Students spend time with classmates online and those who are able to come to Indianapolis where Marian University is located have an opportunity to participate in monthly, in-person hybrid learning experiences. In addition to school-based clubs, K12 online national clubs help connect students with like interests and passion.
What career preparation opportunities will be available?
Students will have a chance to participate in career-based courses, in addition to advanced, study dual-enrollment courses at Marian University, and will also have internship and credential opportunities.
What college preparation programs will be available?
At MU Prep, students can begin preparing for college as early as middle school, explore majors prior to entering college, and earn college credits through dual enrollment opportunities.
What is the attendance policy?
Attendance Policy:
- Attend live classes daily, just like in a brick-and-mortar school
- Students are marked present when they log into a course, participate in live class session or watch the recording of class session missed.
- If a student does not log into their account by noon, an automative call will go out to Learning Coach.
- Absences must be reported by the parent or legal guardian to be excused.
- Absences due to illness exceeding more than 3 consecutive days may result in a request for a physician’s note

Engagement Policy:
- Students are required to:
- Attend daily live-virtual and asynchronous sessions
- Arrive promptly at the scheduled time for the live-virtual class sessions;
- Students should Log in to each session with their username and password;.
- Always participate and engage in all live classes with their video/screens turned on;
- Students should engage in communication related to the class lesson, both verbally & via chat.
- Always be respectful and courteous towards others.
- Review each course’s calendar and announcements.
- Complete the assigned coursework daily
- There is coursework, in addition to participating in live-virtual class sessions;
- Complete and submit assignments on, or before, due dates;
- Logging in without doing coursework may be considered truancy.
- Spend approximately one hour on course work per class daily.
- Read teacher feedback and use it to improve on future assignments.
- If assistance is needed, students are to communicate with teachers and other staff by email, text, &/or call.
