At Marian University Preparatory School (MU Prep), students are motivated to discover their passion.

What is college prep?
Marian University Advanced Study Program – Dual Credit
The Advanced Study Program, in concert with Marian University’s Saint Joseph College, offers MU Prep high school juniors and seniors under the age of 19, who have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA, the opportunity to take college courses either live-virtually or in-person. Courses are taught by Marian University faculty, and students earn college credits that can count towards high school credits.
Application windows for Marian University’s Saint Joseph College Advanced Study Program are:
- Fall Semester: opens March 1st – course offerings available; deadline is August 1st.
- Spring Semester: opens October 1st – course offerings available; deadline is December 1st.
Please contact MU Prep to notify the school of your intent to participate in the Advanced Study Program 30 days prior to the application deadline.
Traditionally MU Prep juniors and seniors have access to 100-level courses; upper-level courses may require pre-requisite course completion or approval.
Tuition rates for high school students interested in the Advanced Study are $25 per credit hour, which means a standard three-credit Advanced Study course costs $75.
Students may take up to 36 hours of dual credit courses at Marian University.
Select dual credit courses, taught by MU Prep faculty, may be offered in the future.
What is career prep?
In addition to core courses, students take career-focused courses to explore their options in high-demand fields. Students can also connect with industry professionals, participate in career exposure experiences, and pursue internships or apprenticeships—all while earning a high school diploma. Discovering professional interests now helps prepare students for success after graduation. We not only encourage students to explore their options for life after high school, we also provide them with enriching opportunities to apply their learning in real-world experiences. Beginning in middle school, students are prepared for future college and career paths so that they can discover where they want to go and how to get there. Our courses allow students to explore high-demand business pathways, while providing leadership education that prepares a Trustworthy, Healthy, Inquisitive, and Skilled leader.
Career Fields
Business
Business Management & Administration – this pathway prepares students in managerial functions, legal aspects of business, contract law, and introduces students to business ownership, organizational principles, accounting fundamentals, financial management, and report analysis for decision-making to include the use of technology for decision-making. Additionally, students learn the functions of marketing and the development of an integrated marketing plan.
Marketing – this pathway prepares students in managerial functions, legal aspects of business, contract law, and introduces students to business ownership and organizational principles. Students learn the fundamentals of marketing in the global economy, focusing on the seven functions of marketing and integrating communication, math, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, as well as strategic marketing that builds on these foundations, exploring consumer behavior and the application of psychological and economic theories to marketing activities.
