MU Prep’s March Hybrid Experience Day Brings Virtual Learning to Life at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis

March Hybrid Experience Day: MU Prep’s innovation offers hands-on experiences, giving students the flexibility to explore, discover, and grow.
At Marian University Preparatory School (MU Prep), we provide students with a rigorous, faith-based virtual education that meets them where they are. Though learning isn’t limited to virtual classrooms for students within driving distance of Marian University’s campus. MU Prep offers Hybrid Experience Days that are a valuable part of the MU Prep experience, giving students opportunities to socialize, collaborate, and apply what they’ve learned in exciting, hands-on environments.
Our March Hybrid Experience Day hosted students from throughout Indiana, in kindergarten through fifth grade, at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis—the largest children’s museum in the country. Students explored, played, and connected, bringing their virtual lessons to life in a dynamic, real-world setting.
The Benefits of Hybrid Experience Days
Hybrid Experience Days at MU Prep are designed to enhance online learning with real-world experiences. These events allow students to:
✅ Meet classmates and teachers in person, fostering friendships beyond the virtual classroom.
✅ Apply lessons in interactive ways, reinforcing online coursework through hands-on activities.
✅ Engage with their local community, discovering exciting places that make learning fun and memorable.
“Even though our students learn online, they still crave connection and hands-on discovery,” said Joe Heidt, Executive Director, MU Prep. “Hybrid Experience Days are an important part of the MU Prep experience because they enhance the knowledge and understanding that students have gained in the classroom and apply that knowledge through experience in the real world.”
Learning in Action at The Children’s Museum
At The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, MU Prep students were able to explore a variety of STEM, history, and cultural exhibits in a fun and engaging way. Some of the day’s highlights included:
🔹 ScienceWorks – Hands-on experiments and engineering challenges let students explore physics, chemistry, and environmental science in action.
🔹 Dinosphere – Budding paleontologists stepped back in time to study fossils and learn about prehistoric life.
🔹 Take Me There®: Greece – A cultural journey allowed students to experience Greek traditions, language, and daily life through immersive exhibits.
Why Hybrid Experience Days Matter for Online Learners
For students at MU Prep, Hybrid Experience Days provide additional educational experiences by blending the flexibility of virtual learning with the benefits of in-person exploration. Families love the opportunity for their children to connect with peers, engage in hands-on activities, and explore exciting locations in the community.
At Marian University Preparatory School, we are committed to creating a dynamic online learning experience that goes beyond the virtual classroom. If you’re looking for a faith-based, education that prepares your child for life after graduation, consider enrollment with MU Prep.
